Kankakee Junior High School

On behalf of the Kankakee Junior High School Community, I would like to welcome you to our school! My name is Dr. Sharon Alexander and I am grateful to be serving this school community as the building principal. At KJHS, we pride ourselves in being intentional about teaching and learning and sharing with our school community.  Each KJHS student continues to grow and learn each and every day they are in our school and we continue to work with them to build a strong scholar identity. This means that students persevere when work gets difficult and they try their best in everything they do.  We can not do this work without an amazing staff that is student-centered, making data driven decisions to support learning, and working collaboratively to be the best educators they can be.  The work of creating a high-performing school takes a village and we acknowledge the efforts of parents, guardians and other loved ones who partner with us in this work.  At KJHS, we pride ourselves on having strong student involvement in sports, activities, and clubs, and exceptional educational programming to inspire students to dream big.  We hope that you get an opportunity to be a part of our school and will continue to RISE TOGETHER!
